Description	:	David Eldon Carl Albers, 73, of Pawnee City, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, in Seneca, Kan. He was born Dec. 2, 1935, to Arthur and Velma (Bredemeier) Albers in Pawnee City. He grew up on a farm at Violet, Neb., and attended school at District 11 country school in Pawnee County. He then attended Pawnee City High School, where he graduated in 1953. He loved... Read More	David Eldon Carl Albers, 73, of Pawnee City, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, in Seneca, Kan. He was born Dec. 2, 1935, to Arthur and Velma (Bredemeier) Albers in Pawnee City. He grew up on a farm at Violet, Neb., and attended school at District 11 country school in Pawnee County. He then attended Pawnee City High School, where he graduated in 1953. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army Reserve. In 1959, he moved east of Pawnee City to a farm with his parents. Later, he farmed south of Pawnee City where he raised livestock (cattle and hogs). He loved tractor pulling, gardening and hunting. He served on the Pawnee County Fair Board. He was one of the first people in Pawnee County to receive a deer license. In 1997, David suffered a stroke and lived in different care centers in the area. He is survived by his brother, Donald Albers and wife Judy of rural Pawnee County; brother-in-law, Fred Acton of Holmesville; sister-in-law, Margaret Albers of Lincoln; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Acton; brother, Kenneth Albers. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 1:30 p.m. at Salem United Church of Christ at Steinauer. Officiating are Pastor Kathy Rahorst and Pastor Ken Tubbesing.
