Description	:	The Memphis (Missouri) Reveille, June 21, 1906: David Foster was born in Ohio May 10, 1843. He was married in 1864 to his now bereaved wife and lived happily together. To them were born ten children, nine of whom are living, four sons and five daughters. In 1865, Bro. Foster with his family came to Scotland County and has remained here ever since; finally buying and improving his beautiful home in Miller Township, where he succeeded in accumulating a goodly amount of property. He was married in 1864 to his now bereaved wife and lived happily together. To them were born ten children, nine of whom are living, four sons and five daughters. In 1865, Bro. Foster with his family came to Scotland County and has remained here ever since; finally buying and improving his beautiful home in Miller Township, where he succeeded in accumulating a goodly amount of property. He was a Union soldier through the Civil War, serving his country faithfully. For many years he has been recognized as a prominent citizen of his county, respected and honored by his neighbors and fellow citizens. He was a Christian man and a member of the Pleasant Hill C.P. Church. In his death a true husband, beloved father and noble citizen has gone. He will be missed. He died June 6, 1906, after about a year's affliction, at the age of 63 years and 27 days. His funeral was held at the Pleasant Hill Church conducted by his pastor, Rev. W.C. Herdman, assisted by Rev. W.S. Harold, of Memphis, on June 7, 1906, a very large assembly of people gathering to show their respect to the memory of a departed friend. His body was laid away in the cemetery near the church he had loved and where lay his parents and other loved ones to await a coming resurrection.
