Jameson, who lived the most of his life near Winchester, but lately of Eldon, was found dead in the wood shed at his home near Eldon. It is thought he had gone to the shed for wood and while there heart trouble suddenly took him away. Mr. Jameson was about 90 years of age, but was quite stout for a man of that age. His greatest difficulty seemed to be the loss of his hearing, yet he was cheerful and seemed to enjoy life as much as could be expected, consisdering his age and defect. His remains were brought in on the evening train and taken to the home of his son, Geo. Jameson who lives north of Longview. The funeral services were conducted at the Union church at 2 o'clock by Rev. Hebner of Stockport M.C. church and the burial at Smith's cemetery, where his wife and other reltives are buried. He leaves seven children to mourn his loss. Two girls, Mrs. Lilie Fickel and Mrs. Flora Truett, and George, Ira, Nese, Wili and Sam, the last two being in the west. Mr. Jameson was a good citizen, honest, upright and ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in trouble and distress. He had been sawing wood and had apparently been in good health. Mr. Jameson was until about 10 years ago a resident of Union township, near Winchester. He was a brother of Mrs. Cyrus Day, mother of George Day of this city. The funeral was held Tuesday at Union church, east of Birmingham and the interment was at Smith cemetery. The deceased was about 90 years old. A week before, John Jameson, a brother of David, died under similar circumstances at Van Wyck, Idaho. He was about 60 years of age. J.H. Day of Boise, a brother of George Day, was appointed administrator of his uncle's estate. Source: Both are found at: Van Buren Co.
