He is survived, by seven children, thirty grandchildren and forty-two great grandchildren. David Nelson of this place left Thursday for Rappahannock, Va. where he will spend a month visiting his two sons, David, Jr. and George Nelson, and his daughter, Mrs. B.F. Woodland. Capt. Nelson is eighty-four years old, and is the oldest man in this community. He possesses all the faculties of any ordinary man of forty and travels alone. He was a sailing captain on the Chesapeake for fifty-seven years. He never lost a man or had any accident worth mentioning during that time. (Note: David (1824-1913) was the son of Thomas and Nancy Nelson. He married Julia A. Lawson in 1843 and had 7 children. She died in 1905. He had a brother, Elijah Nelson (1834-1920)."
