For months his health has been in bad condition and he lately had a stroke of paralysis which resulted in his death Wednesday. Eight months ago Mrs. Tressler died. His two daughters are Mrs. Anna Lowrey and Mrs. Minnie K. Wright. Nothing has happened for months that has caused so much sorrow in Americus as the death of Mr. Tressler. P. Tressler, of Americus, is dead. For months his health has been in bad condition and he lately had a stroke of paralysis which resulted in his death Wednesday. Eight months ago Mrs. Tressler died. His two daughters are Mrs. Anna Lowrey and Mrs. Minnie K. Wright. Nothing has happened for months that has caused so much sorrow in Americus as the death of Mr. Tressler. He was the senior member of the firm Tressler & Lowrey and is well known all over Lyon county. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon at the home by the Masons. About fifteen Emporia Masons attended the funeral and assisted in the services. He was also well known in G.A.R. circles having served in a Pennsylvania regiment during the civil war. Soon after the close of the war he left Pennsylvania and moved to Kansas. D. P. Tressler was not a man who became prominent in state politics, or even did anything to spread his fame much farther than Lyon county. He lived a life that endeared him to his friends, made him respected in his political party and a successful business man. He never made an effort to secure a high office from his party, but for years a convention had never been held that Tressler has not been a delegate. He was a fine type of American citizen.
