Per the book: he was the husband of Susan Ida McCants and the son of Charles & Sarah Mathews Timms. Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of Charles Timms and Sarah Young. Per the book: he was the husband of Susan Ida McCants and the son of Charles & Sarah Mathews Timms. Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of Charles Timms and Sarah Young. He was married at the time of his death but his certificate does not name his spouse nor does it give his place of death. He was a farmer. He died of cardio-renal (disease). There is no informant. His certificate puts him in Hickory Ridge Cemetery. (Fairfield Baptist is in the Hickory Ridge Section of Fairfield County). Found in The State (Columbia, SC) 27 August 1926: Winnsboro, Aug. 26-Funeral services for David Young Timms, who was born September 3 ,1871, and died at his residence in the Hillcrest section of Fairfield county, August 17, were held August 18 at 3 o'clock at Fairfield Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. Oliver Johnson of Winnsboro. Interment was in the church cemetery. Besides his widow, who was before her marriage, Miss Sue McCants of McConnellsville, he is survived by four sons; Thomas Walter, David Young Jr., Daniel Devinney and Joseph Edmund. The ages, respectfully, are 14, 11, seven and five. David Y. Timms was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Timms who were the parents of fourteen children, four of whom are still living, Tom Timms, Sam Timms and George Timms and Mrs. W. D. Park. Mr. Timms was named for his oldest brother, David Y. Timms, who was killed in the Battle of Seven Pines. He was a highly respected and prosperous farmer, who left many relatives and friends to mourn his death. Per his headstone: he was married February 23, 1911. Note the conflict in the DOD on the headstone and in the obituary.
