Description	:	The Nebraska Signal, December 28, 1939: Delbert Galen Hillgren, a son of Gust Nathaniel and Mary Elizabeth Hillgren, was born near Shickley, Neb., April 16, 1907. His boyhood days were spent hear Shickley, Strang and Carleton. He attended the Shickley public schools. His mother passed away in October, 1921. He remained with his father at their home in Shickley. August 30, 1933, he was united in marriage to Frieda L. Saatman. To this union were born three children, Victor Delbert, Vernon Frederick and Vaughn Galen. He passed away at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln, Neb., Wednesday, December 20, 1939, at the age of 32 years, 8 months and 4 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and sons, his father of Hastings, Neb., three brothers, Elmer of Anselmo, Neb., Carl of Missoula, Mont., and Marvin of Milwaukee, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Erma Moles of Hamilton, Mont., Mrs. Ruth Barker of Fairfield, Ia., and Irene of Shickley, other relatives and many friends. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father as well as a kind and willing neighbor and friend. While still single he spent a couple of years in the states of Montana and Idaho. After marriage he and his wife lived six months at Shickley and the rest of his life was spent on a farm near Ohiowa. The funeral was not held until Saturday, December 22, pending the arrival of a sister of the deceased. The rites were conducted at the Methodist Church at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. S. G. Rasmusson. Considering the day, it was a large funeral, for friends and neighbors who could come were there. Mrs. Lewis Bornschlegl and Mrs. Frank Sieckmann had charge of the floral offerings. Casket bearers were Lewis Bornschlegl, Frank and Will Sieckmann, Donald Thornton and Delbert Witt and Charles Miller of Shickley. A mixed quartet, Francis Garrison, Greta Luttich, Mrs. I. C. Steele and Gordon Rasmusson, sang with Mrs. L. Goodman at the piano. Interment was in the Ohiowa Cemetery.
