Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, April 21, 1983; pg. 6 Delma Gladys DeHart, one of six children of George T. and Jennie Kneau Watts, was born on a farm between Deweese and Nelson on July 12, 1900. She passed away very peacefully in her chair at the farm she loved so much on April 16, 1983, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 4 days. She grew up on the farm and was married to Jack Albert DeHart on July 12, 1922, at Nelson. They made their home on the DeHart farm 2 1/4 miles south of where she was born. Delma and Jack had two children, Gretchen and Jack, Jr. They moved to Nelson in their later years. After her husband's death, Delma moved back to the farm where her son, Jack, Jr., now lives. Delma loved the out-of-doors and farm life. She was constantly doing the chores that a farm requires. She was not afraid to harness up the horses and do the field work. She loved and cared for animals. Even the day before she died she cared for her chickens and cattle. The litter of new puppies were all petted and cared for. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening. Yes, she was a farm lady at heart and soul. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jack, on December 18, 1979; and three brothers, Ernest, Frank and Bill Watts. Surviving are a daughter, Gretchen White, and her husband, Jake, of Superior; a son, Jack J., and his wife, Marilyn, of Nelson; two sisters, Mrs. Homer Clements and Mrs. Alvie Berry, both of Imperial; six grandchildren, Mick White, Mrs. David (Sandi) Kramer, Mrs. Tom (Jackie) Jensen, Mrs. Scott (Jean) Corman, Jim Chapman and Jay DeHart; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. from the United Methodist Church in Nelson with Rev. Paul Samuelson officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. "Beyond The Sunset" was sung by Joe Ferebee, with Ivan Schafer as organist. Casketbearers were Orlando Berry, Frank Clements, Donald Watts, Robert Watts, Calvin Dashrofsky and Stanley Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Gordon Watts, Ward Stansbury, Floyd Zikmund, Pete Nielsen, Wilbur Williams and Gordon Sheets. Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements.
