He passed away December 18, 1979, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 12 days. Jack has been a lifetime resident of Nuckolls County, where he has farmed and been employed by the Nuckolls County Road Department. July 12, 1922, Jack was united in marriage to Delma Watts at Nelson. To this union two children were born. December 14, 1922, Jack was initiated into the Nelson Masonic Lodge #77. On May 3, 1923, he was passed into the second degree and on January 28, 1926, he was raised to the third degree. November 6, 1947, Jack joined the Shrine at Tehama Temple in Hastings. Jack has spent many happy hours with his fellow lodge brothers and his lodge has been a very important part of his life. Preceding him in death were both his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Orlando, and three sisters, Alda Seefeld, Lillian DeHart and Claudia Smith. Jack was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to mourn his passing from this life are his wife, Delma of Nelson; two children, Jack Jr. of Nelson and Mrs. Jackie (Gretchen) White of Superior; his brother, Frank of Nelson; his grandchildren, Micky White of Superior, Mrs. David (Sandra) Kramer of Buffalo, Missouri, Mrs. Scott (Jean Ann) Corman of Oak, Mrs. Tom (Jackie) Jensen of Superior, Jay DeHart and James Chapman, both of Nelson; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 21, from the United Methodist Church in Nelson with Rev. Clair Kess officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Casketbearers were J.P. Nielsen, Leroy Schott, Jack Wehrman, Richard Wroughton, Milton Ferebee and Robert McCutchan.
