Description	:	Delores Marie (Freidel) Gregg, 88, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2019 surrounded by her family. Delores was born on April 30, 1930 in rural Tabor, South Dakota to Edwin and Pauline (Caba) Freidel. She attended Dewey School District #17 in Yankton County, North Spink District #59 in Union County and graduated from Vermillion High School in May 1949. She married Lorin L. Read More	Delores Marie (Freidel) Gregg, 88, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2019 surrounded by her family. Delores was born on April 30, 1930 in rural Tabor, South Dakota to Edwin and Pauline (Caba) Freidel. She attended Dewey School District #17 in Yankton County, North Spink District #59 in Union County and graduated from Vermillion High School in May 1949. She married Lorin L. Gregg on February 16, 1950 in Emmett, near Beresford, South Dakota. In early years of marriage, they lived near Dalesburg, SD before they moved to the family farm on Timber Road in Vermillion. To their union, 4 children were born, Michael, Kathy, Tom and Curt. Delores kept busy raising chickens, and selling eggs to the Vermillion community, helping Lorin on the farm, raising her children and volunteering in any way she could in her church and the community. On July 11, 1987, Delores lost the love of her life, Lorin after he had been struck by lightning while farming. Delores continued to stay on the farm until 1990 when she moved to town in Vermillion. After moving to town, she spent her time working as a cook at the Vermillion Nursing Home, Beta Theta Pi Fraternity House, Vermillion Senior Center retiring in 2004. Delores was a proud member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, a lifetime member of Catholic Daughters #687, VFW Auxiliary #3061, Eagles Auxiliary, and a member of Clay County Democrats and many other organizations where she volunteered her time and talents. Delores enjoyed traveling, sewing, embroidery, friends. and most importantly, her family. Her pride and honor was her donation of time and pie making for charities. She received an honor from Make a Wish Foundation for her dedication to their charity. She was so proud of what she could do to help others to be a part of her church and community. Grateful for sharing her memory are her children, Michael (Renee) Gregg, Kathy Wendte, Tom Gregg, and Curt (Kelleen) Gregg; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Elmer and her beloved husband, Lorin. [Source: Kober Funeral Home]
