[Additional info: Born in the highest incorporated city of Leadville, Colorado, Demi was the first of two children born to Frank and Katharine Greene. Her younger brother, Stanton, was born in Oregon where their father was working with the Conservation Corps. He soon became the assistant superintendent of the Sierra National Park area, and the family was off to North Fork, California. In North Fork, she and her brother rode horses, and spent summers with their grandparents in South Dakota. Demi enrolled at Fresno State University, and there she became an active Delta Zeta gal, and graduated from Fresno State with a degree and elementary teaching credential. It was in Fresno as a new teacher that her friend Millie and husband, Bob, arranged Demi on a blind date with a guy from Fresno, who had worked at the U.N. in New York City. His name, Bill Wells. They were married in Carmel on June 21st, 1952. The couple would make their first home together in Fresno. Later they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where Bill worked with his father. Demi stayed at home, and in March of 1959 they had their first daughter, Loring Ann. Two years later a second daughter was born, Cathleen Renee. Two years after her birth the family returned to California. By 1965 Bill and Demi bought a house in Jackson, CA. Once the girls were in school, Demi went back to teaching. She loved teaching first grade at Jackson Elementary school more than anything in the world. Even after she retired in 1985, she still spent many hours going up and visiting the other classrooms. She was truly a teacher at heart. She took every opportunity in the classroom and out, making every day events a learning experience. In June of 1989 she welcomed her son-in-law, Bill Murray, into her family. As far as she was concerned Bill was a "great guy". In May of 1990 she became a doting grandmother to Erin, and then twice as doting to her twin grandchildren, Kath-arine and William. Her second daughter had two children, Christine and Troy. After moving to Sun City Anthem in Henderson, Nevada, in August of 1999, Demi became extremely active in the womens' sewing group at the club. There and at home, Demi sewed up a storm - and some quilts and table runners, and hats. You name it, she sewed it! The club made it their mission to sew blankets for homeless children, blankets for the fire departments to pass out to victims of fires. The club had sewing fairs to raise money for local charities.]
