Description	:	Denelda E. Meyer Rohrs, 95, passed away in the pre-dawn hours of Monday, September 10, 2018 in rural Napoleon. For the past two years she was in the care of her youngest daughter, Gayla, and died peacefully in the room in which she was born. A lifelong Henry County resident, Denelda was born January 25, 1923 to Fred and Emile (Bischoff) Meyer, Freedom Township, the youngest of their four children. Read More	Denelda E. Meyer Rohrs, 95, passed away in the pre-dawn hours of Monday, September 10, 2018 in rural Napoleon. For the past two years she was in the care of her youngest daughter, Gayla, and died peacefully in the room in which she was born. A lifelong Henry County resident, Denelda was born January 25, 1923 to Fred and Emile (Bischoff) Meyer, Freedom Township, the youngest of their four children. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, and was a 1940 graduate of Wauseon High School. Denelda married Arthur C. Rohrs on January 13, 1946, after his return from his overseas assignment in World War II. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2011. Denelda had been an active member of Napoleon's Emanuel Lutheran Church including the church choir, council, and ladies groups and served in leadership roles for Bible studies and Sunday School. She served for decades on the Liberty Township election board, was a 45-year member of the Ridgeville Corners Post 454 Auxiliary, a 40-year member of the neighborhood Farm Bureau council, and was best known in the area as the "egg lady" as she and her husband cleaned, packed and delivered eggs to Napoleon area households each Thursday for 21 years. After raising her 5 children and filling the role of full-time farm wife, Denelda and her husband enjoyed traveling. They made three trips to Europe and many times they joined friends for motorcoach trips throughout the region. The active retired couple also continued their love of card playing, polka dancing and gathering with family and friends. Surviving Denelda are her children Ronnie (Kathy) Rohrs, Napoleon, who came to her as a 2-year old after the death of his mother Regina Bindeman Rohrs, Jerry (Cecily) Rohrs, Archbold; Mara Jean (Jim) Musshel, Napoleon, Nanette (Dave) Schwab, Napoleon, and Gayla Yaney, Napoleon. She leaves 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren with another on the way, and her her in-laws Norbert and Shirley Rohrs and Janice Rohrs. Preceding her in death besides her husband were her parents, and siblings Clara Meyer Kahlke, Arthur Meyer, and Norma Meyer Genter. Services for Denelda will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 14th, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Scott Street, Napoleon with interment at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday September 13th from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and one hour prior to the service at the church. Suggested memorials are to the Endowment Fund at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Henry County Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
