Description	:	Denis S. Chicoine, 85, of Elk Point, died Wednesday (Sept. 9, 1987) in a Sioux City hospital after a short illness. Services were held at 10 a.m., Sat., Sept. 12, in St. Joseph Catholic church in Elk Point. The Rev. Tony Opem, assisted by Rev. Edward Burian, officiated. He married Caroline Wyant Feb. 26, 1924, in Elk Point. The couple lived and farmed in the Elk Point area until their retirement. Two sons, Bernard and Daryl, preceded him in death. Mr. Chicoine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, La Vonne Baker of Jefferson; a brother, Adrian, and a sister, Odile Donovan, both of Jefferson; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
