Baumfalk, 73 August 28, 1943 ~ June 28, 2017 Dennis was born August 28, 1943 at Beatrice, Nebraska to Henry E. and Irma A. (Hrdlicka) Baumfalk. He graduated from Holmesville, Nebraska High School in 1962. He then served in country in the U.S. Army from 1964- 1970. He married Barbara Jean Yott on July 2, 1965. They were blessed with two children. Dennis worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads as an Engineer Associate for 49 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Beatrice, the Eagles Arie #531 where he was a past president and the Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion, Beatrice. He was a loyal Husker fan, was fond of antique cars, liked traveling and especially enjoyed following his grandchildren in their activities. Dennis E. Baumfalk, 73, of Beatrice passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center after a courageous battle with MDS. Left with memories are his wife; daughter, Teresa (Scott) Vanover of Wymore, Ne; son, Mark (Angie) Baumfalk of Beatrice, NE; 4 grandchildren, Derrick and Taylor Vanover and Laney and Alex Baumfalk ; brothers, Richard Baumfalk, Don Baumfalk and John Baumfalk; sister-in-law, Susan Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Baumfalk and sister, Celeste Baumfalk; parents-in-law, Tom and Helen Yott. Funeral services will be held 10 am Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. Family requests casual attire. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery with military honors by the Bitting Norman Post #27 of the American Legion and the Nebraska Army National Guard. Visitation will be held at Harman-Wright Mortuary Thursday 9am-9pm with the family greeting friends from 6:30-8pm.
