He was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, in Wheat Ridge, Colo. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Stoddard on Aug. 28, 1949. Read More	Obituary; Hebron Journal-Register on June 17, 2009 Dennis Ernest Meyer was born July 30, 1949, to Alvin H. Meyer and Esther, nee Vorderstrasse in Chester. He was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, in Wheat Ridge, Colo. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Stoddard on Aug. 28, 1949. Dennis was confirmed into the Christian faith at St Paul's on June 2, 1963. Dennis attended District 67 school through the fifth grade and then attended Chester Public Schools graduating from high school in 1967. Dennis served in the U. S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972, returning home and helping local farmers until he went to Colorado to attend Colorado Aero-Tech. In 1980 he flew with Ted Kennedy's presidential campaign airplane. Dennis enjoyed farming, especially working with horses and cattle. He showed Polled Hereford cattle at the National Western Stock Show in Denver for a number of years. He was a member of the Midwest, Nebraska, and American Polled Hereford Association. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Esther Meyer. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, David; daughter, Angela; sisters, Carolyn Tietjen and Kathryn Kirkland; brothers, Dean and Gerald, three aunts, one uncle and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his son, David. Dennis was a loving and devoted husband and help mate who loved Linda and the Lord Jesus Funeral services were held June 9 at Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler, with Pastor Phillip Nielsen officiating. Interment was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Stoddard. Military graveside services were conducted by Deshler American Legion Post 352, Deshler.
