He was stricken with polio one day preceding his death and all that human hands could do was not enough to save his life. He was a kind and loving boy. Always fond of his associates, he was interested in the activities for young folk. He attended the Tipton Public School and would have been in the third grade this year. He attended Sunday School at the Tipton Methodist Church and was baptized in that faith. Dennis was very fond of his home and his friends. Those who mourn his death, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wingert and his brother, Ronald, age 10 years of Tipton; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Behrens of Clarence, Iowa; and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wingert of Tipton; his uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends of the Wingert family. His deep cheerful laugh and good spirits will be remembered by all who knew him. A private funeral service was conducted Thursday, August 26, at two o"clock at the Sheets Funeral Home with the Rev. Leo Wolfe officiating. Organ music was played by Mrs. C.C. Crawford. Carl Armstrong sang "Children's Prayer" from "Hansel and Gretel." Internment in the Masonic cemetery with Harold Wingert, Milton, Roy, and Erwin Behrens serving as pallbearers
