Tom Pickles officiated, assisted by the grandson of deceased, Rev. James Stackhouse of Abilene, Texas. Burial was in the Warren Township Cemetery at McCallburg. Tom Pickles officiated, assisted by the grandson of deceased, Rev. James Stackhouse of Abilene, Texas. Burial was in the Warren Township Cemetery at McCallburg. Pallbearers were grandsons Stanley Doser, William Maas, Tim Petersen, Craig Henry, Dennis and Don Stackhouse. Music was furnished by Mrs. Herb Eddy, organist, and soloist Rev. Stackhouse and Randy Stackhouse, another grandson. Flowers were cared for by granddaughters. Mrs. Stackhouse was born near McCallsburg, July 26, 1887 and united with the Presbyterian Church early in life. She remained a member but poor health forced her to become inactive in her church. On Sept. 3, 1908 she was united in marriage to Roy C. Stackhouse. Most of her life was spent in Story and Marshall Counties on Farms. In 1964 she moved to Ankney, Iowa and after Mr. Stackhouse's death in 1976, she resided in nursing homes. Two years were spent at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankney and five weeks at Colonial Manor in Zearing. The family had recently moved to Zearing that she might be closer to her daughters. She passed away Nov. 8, 1978 at the age of 91, after gradual failing health. Surviving are her four sons, Richard of Des Moines; Merrill of Ankeny; Donald of DeLano, Calif.; and J.K. of Locana, Iowa; and two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Naomi) Doser of McCallsburg, and Mrs. Irwin (Ruth) Maas of Marshalltown; a sister Lois Arrasmith of Story City; 23 grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Elizabeth Elliott; her husband, Roy; tow daughters in infancy; her brother Clyde Elliott; one grandson; and two great grandsons.
