Mr. Armstrong was born in Big Timber, July 11, 1897, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. Armstrong. He attended the Big Timber schools and served in the Army during World War I. Mr. Armstrong was born in Big Timber, July 11, 1897, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. Armstrong. He attended the Big Timber schools and served in the Army during World War I. He was married to Mollie Sparrow on August 25, 1925. Deceased was employed by the Jim Lacklen Oil Co., the Oie Motor Co., and the Northern Pacific railroad, and in the late 1930s was elected Sweet Grass county clerk of court, a position he held until 1943 when he was appointed clerk and recorder. He served in that office until his retirement in 1963. He was a member of the local American Legion post and was a retired member of the Big Timber Volunteer Fire Department. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, and daughter, and by his wife in May 1964. Survivors include a son, John W. (Jack) Armstrong of Great Falls; a sister, Mrs. Nina Burkett of Manhattan, and one grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the First Congregational church with Rev.John Calhoun officiating; Music was by Mrs. Jerry Egeland who sang, "God of Our Life," and "The King of Love My Shepherd Is." accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Victor Schriver. Pallbearers were Ole Rodwold E. O. Overland, W. H. Hatfield, Jerry Egeland, Dr. J. D. Herries, and W. W. McArthur. Burial was in Mountain View. Military rites were conducted by Sweet Grass post 19, American Legion. The firing squad was composed of Rudy Mosness, commander Al Deegan, Ray Bieber, K. C. Jones, Charles Nicholson, Herb McCauley, A. R. Cotkins Jr., Kermit Luttschwager, and Ray Traver. Harold Boe, F. B.
