Mary (Mollie) Lucille Sparrow Armstrong ws born August 17, 1898, at Lima, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Sparrow. She moved to Dilon and later attended a convent in Helena. She attended a high school in Dillon and Dillon Normal college, and her first teaching assignment was at the Orphans' Home in Twin Bridges. She also taught rural schools in the Big Hole Basin. During World war II and the following years, Mrs. Armstrong taught in the rural schools at Grey Cliff, Dry Creek, Wild Rose, Otter Creek, and Big Timber Creek. She also taught kindergarten classes in her home for several years. She was a member of the Congregational church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Homeland Circle. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jack Armstrong of Great Falls, and a grandchild. A son and daughter preceded her in death. Contributor: Julia Kinsey (48922386) •
