Nordmann was born on a farm east of Lennox, SD, on August 13, 1914, the son Harm Jr. and Peterka (Bruns)Nordmann. He grew up in this area attending rural school. Read More	Dick H. “Windy Dick” Nordmann, 100, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center. Dick H. Nordmann was born on a farm east of Lennox, SD, on August 13, 1914, the son Harm Jr. and Peterka (Bruns)Nordmann. He grew up in this area attending rural school. After school he began work on the family farm until moving to Fargo, ND to work as a mail carrier. He returned to farming after two years, until beginning an over 30 year carrier with John Morrell and Company in Sioux Falls, retiring at age 62. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dick was well known around the Lennox community for his ability to converse with anyone. He was also known for riding his flag decorated bicycle in the Lennox 4th of July parade for many years. Besides his parents, Dick was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Paul Nordmann in 2002 and eight siblings: Harm, Jennie Morke, Ralph, Emna Brown, Frank, Kattie, Bill and Peter. Grateful for having shared his life are his three sons: Gerald (Ruby) Nordman, Lennox, Jackie (Lorraine) Nordmann, Lennox and Dick Harm Nordmann, Chancellor; eight grandchildren: Renee Hagedorn, Douglas Nordman, Kandi White, Kole Nordmann, Kelly Javers, Kerry Nordmann, Amy Nordmann and Tony Nordmann; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Marie(Marvin) Bultena, Lennox and Katie Javers, Tea, as well as other relatives and friends.
