Funeral arrangements not made yet. -- Pleasant View The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, April 18, 1946; pg. 5 ============================= Dietrich Gerhard August Kuper was born in Buckhorn, Germany, October 16, 1868 and departed this life on April 16, 1946, having reached the age of 77 years and 6 months. Mr. Kuper immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 years. He lived in Saline County, Nebraska, for 7 years, then moved to Nuckolls County with his parents in 1893. On March 4, 1903 he was united in marriage with Maria H. Schmidt at Swanton, Nebr. In 1906, they moved to the farm north of Nelson which has remained their home ever since. In 1908 he joined the Pleasant View U.B. Church and continued to be a faithful member until death death. He was a kindly, home-loving man whose greatest devotion was to his family and his work. He was always respected for his integrity and uprightness. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Maria H. Kuper, his three children, Mrs. Clyde Moore, Laddonia, Mo.; Miss Beulah Kuper, Nelson; Dr. Herbert Kuper, Leigh, Nebr.; and three grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Robert Harz, Linn, Kansas, and one brother, Fred Kuper, Superior, Nebr.; and a host of relatives and friends. Three sisters preceded him in death. Services were held at the Pleasant View U.B. Church Friday, April 19. Interment was in the family lot in the Nelson cemetery (sic). Those who attended from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harz, Linn, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Harz, Greenleaf, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harz, Salina, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Harz, Riley, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kuper, McCook, Mr. Edward Schmidt and Laura, and Carl Schmidt, Western, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Schmidt, Jake, John and Wm. Kreuscher of DeWitt, Nebraska. CARD OF THANKS. We wish to express our sincere appreciation of the sympathy and many kind deeds bestowed upon us in our time of sorrow and bereavement.
