Description	:	ALBION — Dolores C. Sweet, 95, of Albion, formerly of Scotia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Boone County Health Center in Albion. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chalk Hills Community Church in Scotia. Pastor Jeremiah Knoop will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Scotia. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sweet was born Aug. 1, 1919, at home in Greeley County east of Horace to Alfred and Nell (Jeffres) Beck. Mrs. Sweet was born Aug. 1, 1919, at home in Greeley County east of Horace to Alfred and Nell (Jeffres) Beck. She was raised in the Horace area, where she received her education and graduated from Horace School in 1937. On April 24, 1937, Dolores was united in marriage to Adrian B. Sweet at Bartlett. To this union a daughter, Sharon, was born. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Ames, Iowa. While in Ames, Dolores worked for two years on a dairy farm. In 1939, they returned to the Horace area where they made their home and farmed. Dolores worked on the farm and cooked for the hired hands. In 1989, they moved into Scotia. Mr. Sweet passed away on Feb. 26, 1992. Dolores resided in Scotia until she moved in September of 2010 to Albion, where she resided at Good Samaritan Society and recently Wolf Good Samaritan Home. Dolores was a lifetime member of the Horace Church. Upon the closing of the church she became a member of the Chalk Hills Community Church of Scotia. She belonged to the Women’s Missionary Group and TOPS. Dolores will be remembered for her excellent cooking, her large garden and entertaining. Survivors include a son-in-law, Darrell Cook of rural Scotia; three grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Cheryl Timmons of Wood River, Kent and Lesa Timmons of Wellfleet and Sharolyn and Alan Rasmussen of Albion; nine great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marvis Beck of Fremont. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adrian; her daughter, Sharon Cook; an infant sister; and a sister, Jesse Sautter.
