Description	:	Son of William (Bill) Bedford Brown and Catherine (Kate) Wagner Brown. Known as Don or Demi to family and friends, he was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Don loved fishing and car racing. He spent countless hours on the coast fishing for ling cod, snapper and halibut. He enjoyed fishing for trout and catfish at Lake Shasta. Known as Don or Demi to family and friends, he was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Don loved fishing and car racing. Don built up and raced 1930 and 1932 Ford Coups and Ford Flatheads winning trophies and awards for his outstanding driving abilities. He was number 64 at Roseville, California. He loved working on old cars and trucks. Don attended schools in Union County, Creston, Iowa to the 8th grade. Even though he may not have obtained degrees or diplomas did not mean he was uneducated. He excelled in mechanical work, attested by the fact that many friends brought their mechanical problems to Don and he fixed/repaired perfectly. Don owned a horse ranch in Petaluma, CA. People rented horses from him to ride in a nearby national forest. He took care of celebrities horses including Roy Rogers and Angie Dickinson. He volunteered as beach patrol for Point Reyes National Forest Sheriff's Dept. Don has a patent for an endurance bridle he invented and he won an endurance race using his bridle. He won several awards for his horses and horsemanship abilities. He was in Marlboro commercials shown on TV in the late 70's. Don entered the Air Force December 15, 1952 where he was a heavy vehicle operator truck driver. He won a National Defense Service Medal, while in Greenland when he volunteered to plow through deep snow 20 miles out onto the ocean, in order for ambulances to rescue people in a plane crash. It was an extremely dangerous mission, but Don toughed it out being the kind of man he was. He was honorably discharged in December 14, 1960. Don is proceeded in death by his father William (Bill) Brown, mother Catherine (Kate) Brown, a son, Tony Bedford Brown (1990) and five brothers: Peter George, George William, Riley John, Robert Roman and Norbert William, as well as one sister Dora May Elizabeth (Don Smith) the whereabouts of sisters Mary Mildred Monica Brown and Irene Joan Brown are unknown. Don is survived by one sister Catherine Marie Brown Shoenhair, aged 90 from Craig, Colorado. Don is also survived by his wife of 32 years, Jean of Shasta Lake, CA. His surviving children are Tommy Bedford Brown (Dixie) of Elma, WA; Tim Allan, Elma, WA; Tammy Brown (Danny Border) Belfair, WA; Teri Santini; Tina Brown (Rich Galyen) Clayton, OK, James Stull, Shasta Lake; Julie Wilson (Russell) Mountain Gate, CA. Don has 8 granddaughters, 6 grandsons and 5 great grandchildren as will as numerous nephews and nieces.
