He was born July 22, 1937, in Concordia, Kansas, to Loris A. and Florence M. (Bourne) Jasperson. He married Gwen Strait on January 31, 1958, at the E.U.B. Church Chapel, Concordia, by the Rev. Hines. He was born July 22, 1937, in Concordia, Kansas, to Loris A. and Florence M. (Bourne) Jasperson. He married Gwen Strait on January 31, 1958, at the E.U.B. Church Chapel, Concordia, by the Rev. Hines. To this union two children were born; a son, Dr. Randall Dewaine and a daughter, Carrie Ann Laflin. Don worked for the Cloud County Highway System several years and later went to Clay Center as an assistant county road supervisor. He also worked for Saline County and was Marion County Road Supervisor at the time of his retirement in 1993. He was preceeded in death by his parents and his brother Harold who was killed in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife Gwen, of the home; son Randall and wife Debra, Newton, Kansas; daughter Carrie Ann Laflin and husband Todd, Lebo, Kansas; grandchildren Ryan Jasperson and wife Megan, Overland Park, Kansas; Stacy (Jasperson) Herwig and husband Chris, Newton, Kansas; Megan Heckathorn and husband Dustin, Neosho Rapids, Kansas; Aaron, Adam and Megan Laflin, Lebo, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Ella Brooke Jasperson. Don was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was known by his grandchildren as PAPA and enjoyed all their accomplishments and was a doting PAPA. He will be sorely missed by all. Services will be held in Salina, Kansas, at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, 2508 Belmont, on Tuesday April 13, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. in Concordia. Visitation will be at Nutter Funeral Home, Monday, April 12, from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, Salina, Kansas, 67401. Nutter Mortuary, 116 East 6th, Concordia, Kansas 66901 is in charge of arrangements.
