He was born on October 19, 1926 in Monticello, IN to the late Charles F. and Eva Marie (Denton) Potts. "Don" Potts Sr, 93, died on September 29, 2020 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello, IN. He was born on October 19, 1926 in Monticello, IN to the late Charles F. and Eva Marie (Denton) Potts. On August 14, 1947 in Delphi, IN, he married Clara Belle Shafer; she passed away on March 25, 2019. Don and his late wife had lived in the rural Burnettsville, IN area for over fifty years. He had farmed for a living and then went to work at the old RCA Factory in Monticello until it closed. Don had also worked part time for Pioneer Seed in Flora and a Dye Lumber Company in Monticello. He and Clara had also lived in rural Wolcott and rural Delphi. Don loved to tinker around in the shed with his dog by his side. He loved his wife and always said that marrying Clara was the best decision he ever made. As well as being a great husband, he was a great and wonderful dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and great-great-grandpa. Donald is survived by four children; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandsons; one brother; one sister; two brother-in-laws; three sister-in-laws; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Potts; and four sisters - Gladys Potts, Ruth Martin, Mary Lossing and Ruby Tam. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Fanning of the Idaville First Church of God will officiate services. Burial, with full military honors, will be conducted by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard at Seceder/Cedarville Cemetery.
