Page 8 OBITUARIES- DONALD REIS Donald Reis, 42, son of Glen and Alma Reis, was born Sept. 19, 1923 and passed away at his home Feb. 13, 1966 of coronary thrombosis. Don was born and raised on a farm near Summerfield, Kans. He was baptized in the German Lutheran church ad in later years moved his membership to the Mission Creek Presbyterian church close to his home. He attended Summerfield high school and upon graduation chose farming as his life's work. Don was an active member of the Summerfield community and for the past several years operated the Summerfield Hog Market and Truckline along with his farming. On April 27, 1945 he was married to Hallie Lantz, Burchard, and to this union three children were born. In July, 1963, by receiving a kidney transplant in Denver, Colo., Don made his contribution to humanity by becoming a part of medical history. Don is survived by his wife, Hallie; three children, Linda Lou of Lincoln, Shawn Lee and Nancy Sue of the home; his mother, Mrs. Henry Hafner, Marysville, Kans.; two sisters, Bernice Berens of Fremont and LaVerne Ham of Blue Rapids, Kans.; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded i death by his father. Memorial services were held Feb. 16, 1966 at the Mission Creek Presbyterian church with Rev. Charles Ashmore and rev. Fred Hauman officiating. Graveside services were held at the Pawnee City cemetery. Pallbearers were close friends: Lawrence Robeson, Walter Clark, Charles Usher, Orville Stock, Kenneth Miller and J. D. Barr.
