Wagner, 66, of Scribner died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He was a lifetime Scribner resident. Donald was born March 6, 1932, to Harold C. and Dora (Bang) Wagner in rural Hooper. He graduated from Scribner High School in 1949. On June 6, 1952, he married Patrica Jacobsen at Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Fremont. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict from August 1952 until August 1956. Donald farmed after he was released from the service until his retirement in 1994 when he moved from the farm in to Scribner. Donald was a member of United Lutheran Church in Scribner, serving as a member of on the council and as president. He was on the District 25 School Board for a number of years, and was a 4-H leader for many years. Survivors include his wife, Dan and wife Vicki of Dodge and Dennis of Scribner, two daughters, Debra and husband Carrol Wegner or Scribner and Dee Wagner of Scribner, one brother, Ralph and wife Janine Wagner of Scribner. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at the United Lutheran Church in Scribner today (Wednesday, June 6) at 10 a.m. Rev Don Wright will officiate. Janice Smeal will be organist. The body was cremated and the burial of the ashes will be in the Scribner Cemetery.
