He was the son of the late Lawrence and Gladys (Davan) York. He was raised in Warren County, graduating from Williamsport High School. He received a degree in Electronics from DeVry University. Read More	Donald Eugene York, 86, West Lebanon, passed away at the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 4:55 a.m. Don was born in Pence, in Warren County, on November 4, 1926. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Gladys (Davan) York. He was raised in Warren County, graduating from Williamsport High School. He received a degree in Electronics from DeVry University. On June 5, 1948, Don married Betty L. Brown in the West Lebanon Christian Church. Don owned and operated Don's TV Shop in West Lebanon, where he repaired radios and televisions along with installing aerial towers. After moving to Kokomo in 1967, Don worked for Delco Electronics until his retirement in 1988. Following retirement Don and Betty moved to Sebring, Florida and lived until moving to Williamsport in 2003. While living in Sebring, Don was a member of the Sebring Christian Church and is a current member of the West Lebanon Christian Church. Following school, Don entered the service and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Don enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. In his earlier years he enjoyed bowling and bowled on leagues in Kokomo and Sebring. Don still maintained his love of working on televisions and radios. Don leaves behind his wife of 64 years and two daughters, Deborah (Brad) Johnson, Williamsport and Karen (John) Hughey, Tipton; three brothers, Lloyd (Nancy) York, Williamsport, Tom (Gloria) York, Athens, Ill. and Jim (Sharon) York, Rossville, Ill.; a sister, Marge Peterson, Williamsport; two sister-in-laws, Lois Worley and Marlene Synesael, both of West Lebanon; five grandchildren, Jason (Janeen) Shoffner, Lisa (Scott) Wiley, Diana (Jason) Howe; twins, Linsey (Jeff) Melander and Erin (Mike) Cassner; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Friends may call at the West Lebanon Christian Church, 201 S. Clinton St., on Friday, January 25th, from 4 p.m. until service time at 6 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Burial will be in the West Lebanon Cemetery at a later date.
