Description	:	Donald G. Chamberlain, 82, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away early on Tuesday morning, January 26, 2016 at Wakonda Heritage Manor in Wakonda, South Dakota, after a brief illness. Donald was born on September 16, 1933 in Vermillion, the son of Oren and Magnolia Pearl (Loving) Chamberlain. He enlisted in US Army on May 22, 1956 serving his country in Fort Lewis, Washington and also in South Korea and was discharged on May 2, 1958. He married M. Irene Brewer on May 16, 1953. Chamberlain, 82, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away early on Tuesday morning, January 26, 2016 at Wakonda Heritage Manor in Wakonda, South Dakota, after a brief illness. Donald was born on September 16, 1933 in Vermillion, the son of Oren and Magnolia Pearl (Loving) Chamberlain. He enlisted in US Army on May 22, 1956 serving his country in Fort Lewis, Washington and also in South Korea and was discharged on May 2, 1958. He married M. Irene Brewer on May 16, 1953. To this union, their sons were born, Larry, Billy Lee, and Michael. He worked for the State of South Dakota Highway Department as a foreman for 24 years. After which he opened a shop out of his garage called Don's Repair. He was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Vermillion. He was also a member of the Vermillion Eagles Club and numerous other organizations. He loved being outdoors. Fishing and hunting were his favorite hobbies. He also loved working on cars and being in his garage fixing things. When he was exhausted from working in his garage, he often was found sitting by the river, sitting by a campfire socializing with his family and friends or just sitting in his garage watching cars and people go by. Survivors including his loving son, Michael and his wife, Tracy of Vermillion; his grandchildren, Adam (Stacie) Chamberlain of Ardmore, OK, Robert Chamberlain of Beresford, SD, Kristen (Bob) Engebretson of Billings, MT; his step-grandson, Justin Maunu of Vermillion; his great grandchildren, Hayden, Samantha, Quincy, Lydia, and Soren; his sister, Gladys Armstrong of Mesa, AZ; his two sisters-in-law, Aileen Hosek of Winner, SD, and Sharon (Brewer) Anderson of Vermillion; many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Irene Chamberlain, two sons, Larry and Billy Lee Chamberlain; his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. [Courtesy: Kober Funeral Home]
