Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. till the time of the service at the church. Donald Harry Bode was born on September 20, 1931 at West Point, NE to Harry and Margaret (Schroeder) Bode. He attended Wisner Public Schools and graduated from Wisner High School in 1949. Don worked as a farmhand after high school. He served in the United States Army from January 7, 1953 to December 1, 1954 during the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Wisner. On September 25, 1955, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Westerhold at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Don worked for the City of Wisner for over 30 years. Don was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Wisner Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5767. He enjoyed spending time in his shop, tinkering with whatever he could get his hands on. Don especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include- Wife- Marjorie Bode of Wisner, NE Daughter-Sandra and Michael Lanz of Thurston, NE Daughter-Barb and Jim Mack of Lincoln, NE Son-Brian Bode and Christi Johnson of Bentonville, AR Grandsons- Ben and Anna Troester and children-Jameson & Preston Adam and Kirsten Troester Brother- Nolan and Eileen Bode of Lincoln, NE Nephew- Mark and Jessica Bode and family of Austin, TX Don was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cindy, and parents in law-Clarence and Marcella Westerhold."
