Survivors include his wife, Cecelia Herpich, of the home; 3 sons, Thomas Herpich from Pratt, Kansas, Gene Herpich and Scott Herpich, both from Herington, Kansas; two daughters, Kerry (Herpich) Swinney from Fredonia, Kansas, and Lori (Herpich) Vaughn from Herington, Kansas; two step-sons, Brad Zimmerman from Wichita, Kansas, and Greg Zimmerman from Hutchinson, Kansas; a step-daughter, LaDonna Sutton, from Nickerson, Kansas; two sisters, Doris (Herpich) Floyd and Leona McRae Herpich, both from Herington, Kansas; 15 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, 09 NOV 2000, at the First Christian Church in Herington with burial with military honors conducted by a Fort Riley (Kansas) Funeral Detail in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Herington, under the direction of Brockmeier Funeral Home of Herington.
