Description	:	Don Morten died on Wednesday Funeral services were held in Nazareth Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13 for Don Morten, age 58, who died in the Kenmare hospital on Wednesday, March 10th following a short period of declining health. Rev. Donald Burton officiated at the service, Mrs. Joan Larson was organist and Mrs. Julie Burton sang. Pallbearers were John Odland, Allen Martin, Lloyd Holter, Duane Thelen, Gil Melland and Jerry Johnson. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in the spring with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He was born October 21, 1923, at Kenmare, and was reared on the family farm in Rockford Township, Renville County. He married Eleanor Pomplin Sept. 21, 1946, at Norma. He worked at the Norma Elevator until March 27, 1947, when he became employed by the Farmers Union Oil Co. at Kenmare. He was with the company for 35 years, first as a truck driver, later as parts manager, and more recently as assistant manager. He was a member and deacon of Nazareth church and church council, was a member of the. Kenmare Park Board and a former member of the Kenmare Credit Union Board. Surviving: wife; sons, Kirk, Lakota, and Kevin, Big Stone City, S.D.; a daughter, Kim at home, two grandchildren; father, Casper Morten, Kenmare, and a sister, Mrs. Arvie Hanson, Kenmare.
