Description	:	Phyllis Hanson, 77, Kenmare, died Friday October 17, 2003 in the Kenmare hospital. She was born April 1, 1926, in Kenmare, ND, to Casper J. and Olga (Simonsen) Morten. She was reared and educated in Kenmare and graduated from Kenmare High School. On November 14, 1948, she married Arvie Hanson at Zion Lutheran Church, Norma. She was reared and educated in Kenmare and graduated from Kenmare High School. On November 14, 1948, she married Arvie Hanson at Zion Lutheran Church, Norma. They lived their entire married life in Kenmare. Arvie died in 1991. Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper all her life. At one time, Arvie and Phyllis owned and operated the State Farm Insurance Agency and also a water hauling service, both in Kenmare. Phyllis also worked at several different places throughout her years, including the last ten years as a tax aide preparer for AARP. She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, served on the Church Council and on the board of the W.E.L.C.A. Phyllis was an avid golfer and was a member of the Kenmare Country Club for 51 years. She was also a member and treasurer of the Kenmare Senior Citizens and a member of the Souris Valley Danish Society of Minot. Survivors: son, Allan and wife Vicki, Minot and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hanson, Minot. She was preceded in death by her husband Arvie, infant son Kim Hanson, parents Casper J. and Olga Morten and brother, Donald Morten. Funeral: Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare. Visitation: Monday, 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare. Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare. Officiant: Rev.
