Description	:	Donald L. Tennigkeit, 56, of rural Persia, died Tuesday, November 27, 1990, at his home of cancer. Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, at Meyer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, November 30, at Meyer Funeral Home. The Rev. Stan Nielsen of St. John Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the the Valley View Cemetery in Persia, Iowa. Burial will be in the the Valley View Cemetery in Persia, Iowa. Donald Leroy Tennigkeit was born January 21, 1934, in Logan, the son of Hans and Ida (Mengel) Tennigkeit. He lived in the Persia area since 1947. He married Lois Elaine Hansen on March 19, 1961 in Persia. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958, and farmed near Persia until 1982. He then work at the Oakland Meat Packing Plant in 1983, and at Blue Star Foods from 1987, until May of this year. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Persia. Survivors include his wife, Lois; one daughter, Debra (Daniel) Forsberg of Persia; one son, Mark Tennigkeit of Underwood; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
