Description	:	Hans Tennigkeit, 70, of Council Bluffs, died Thursday, November 8, 1962, at the farm home of his son, Donald L. Tennigkeit, near Persia. Mr. Tennigkeit was helping his son on the farm and was stricken with a heart attack. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 11, at the Meyer Chapel. Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery, Persia, Iowa. Hans Tennigkeit was born December 12, 1892, in Teschendorf, Fehmarn, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the son of Jurgen and Pauline (Pries) Tennigkeit. He came to the United States with his family to Pottawattamie County, Iowa, in 1903. He married Ida Mengel. The couple farmed in the Underwood area, and then for 15 years in the Persia area, before retiring two years ago and moved to Council Bluffs. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and was a World War I Veteran. Surviving are his wife, Ida; one son, Donald Tennigkeit of Persia; six sisters, Anna Flemming of Minden, Bertha Hundt, Kathryn Johnson and Hazel Bedtker, all of Council Bluffs, Emma Krueger of Hancock and Agnes Rounds of Blair, NE; two brothers, Henry Tennigkeit of Council Bluffs and George Tennigkeit of Persia; and one granddaughter.
