Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bellevue, where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 273. He was born on March 5, 1923, in Bellevue, son of Rodney and Elsie (Jones) Stuart. He married Madonna Lampe on Sept. 5, 1944, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Donald was a World War II veteran who served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He was a hardworking man who was a carpenter for more than 70 years. He was a mentor to many in the community. He was a member of the Bellevue Fire Department and the American Legion Post 273. Donald was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed hunting rattlesnakes. He will be deeply missed. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Madonna; four children, Pam (Dick) Cheney, of Dubuque, Paula (Chuck) Prada, of Viera, Fla., Portia Holloway, of Bellevue, and Sheila (Mark) Kelley, of Platteville, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Christina and Christopher Cheney, Charles (Alison) and Andrew Prada, Matthew Holloway, Stephen, Jenna, Bridget and Samantha Kelley; and two greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Lyman Stuart; and four sisters, Louise Sanders, Gwendalyn Jess, Katherine Davis and June Williams.
