Donna Mary Hornbussel, 85, the daughter of Floyd B. and Elsie (Morehead) Shellhase, was born Aug. 18, 1919, at Courtland. She died Feb. 18, at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior. Donna Mary, was the eldest of six children. She lived her life in the Republic and Courtland areas before moving to Superior, in 1929. Donna Mary Hornbussel, 85, the daughter of Floyd B. and Elsie (Morehead) Shellhase, was born Aug. 18, 1919, at Courtland. She died Feb. 18, at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior. Donna Mary, was the eldest of six children. She lived her life in the Republic and Courtland areas before moving to Superior, in 1929. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church more than 50 years. She attended Pawnee and Miller county schools and graduated from Superior High School in 1936. She was united in marriage to Edwin F. Hornbussel on Dec. 20, 1948 at Grand Island. Donna Mary taught school at Mt. Clare, and worked at Lesh's Drug Store, Ben Franklin, Wages Variety and Gift, Farmers Union Co-op Creamery and retired from JC Penney's. She was active in the First Baptist Church, Christian Women's Superior Retired Teachers and Association, American Legion Auxiliary, Busy Bees 4-H Club as a leader for many years, Camp Moses Merrill along with many other church, school and community organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwin F. Hornbussel, a son, David Smith, daughter, Jeanie McMains, and grandson, Nathan Daniel Theiss; one granddaughter, Elisabeth Bohnert, one brother, Evan Lynn Shellhase; and sisters, Lucille McCarty and Ruth Hesser. She is survived by her children (Mrs. Charles Theiss (Lelia), Fishers, Ind.; Richard Hornbussel, Palmdale, Calif.; Mrs. Neil Logan (Lyndall), Reliance, Wyo.; Mrs. G. Doug Enevoldsen (Joan), Wolbach, Neb.; Alan Hornbussel, Superior Mrs. Butch Reiman (Diane), Superior; and son-in-law, Larry McMains, Burr Oak; 21 grandchildren; Anthony Theiss, Timothy and Karen Theiss, Amy-Christine and Timothy Fallowfield, Tracy and Paul Adams, Brian and Miya Harvey, Alayne Harvey and Steve Lowe, David and Tory Enevoldsen, Jennifer and Jeff Koperski, Katie and Seth Rippe, Joshua Enevoldsen, Lisa Hornbussel, Israel Bohnert, and Jennifer Collins, Jonathan and Diane Bohnert, Rachel and Barry Foster, David Reiman, Kevin and Terry Reiman, Doug and Nicole Reiman, Amber Reiman, Nathan McMains and Tessa Core, Tracie Turner and Todd McGee, 29 great-grandchildren; Nathanial and Hannah Theiss, Alexander Theiss, Darrin Rubio, Jeanette, Josetta, Steven and Eric Harvey, Elizabeth Harvey, Sarah and Scott Crandall, Nicholas Lowe, Justin Koperski, Sydney Enevoldsen, Justice Hornbussel, Conner Bohnert, Daphne Bohnert, Zachary Foster, Karie, Kortnie, Jaden and Jackson Reiman,Bianca Reiman, Karina, Colton and Cailin Reiman, Christy Allen and Joseph Morrow; one brother, Delphos Shellhase, Superior; and sister Mrs. Gene Mees (Shirley), Norwalk, Iowa; and one brother-in-law, Pete McCarty, Pueblo, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Rosella Martin, Superior and Mrs. Bob Knott (Pauline), Omaha. Services were held last Wednesday from the First Baptist Church in Superior, with Pastor Leslie Warner officiating. Pallbearers were Joshua Enevoldsen, David Enevoldsen, Amber Reiman, Lisa Hornbussel, Jeff Koperski and Seth Rippe. Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Theiss, Timothy Theiss, Amy-Christine Fallowfeld, Tracy Adams, Brian Harvey, Alayne Crandall, Jennifer Koperski, Katie Rippe, Israel Bohnert, Jonathan Bohnert, Rachel Foster, Nate McMains, David Reiman, Kevin Reiman, Doug Reiman, Tracie Turner and Todd MeGee. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, was in charge of arrangements.
