Description	:	Doramay C. Blakeman, 89 YARMOUTH -- Doramay C. Blakeman, age 89, passed away on March 28, 2013 in her home at Bay Square in Yarmouth. Doramay was born on July 27, 1923 in Hooper, Neb., the first daughter of John and Caroline Ellinghausen. Blakeman, 89 YARMOUTH -- Doramay C. Blakeman, age 89, passed away on March 28, 2013 in her home at Bay Square in Yarmouth. Doramay was born on July 27, 1923 in Hooper, Neb., the first daughter of John and Caroline Ellinghausen. At the age of five she moved to Orange, Calif. where her father established a commercial orange grove business. She attended schools in Orange, graduating from high school in 1941. She married Frank W. Blakeman on Sept. 18, 1943 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. While Frank served in the Navy in Oklahoma, Doramay helped the war effort by working in a factory, assembling military cartridge belts. When the war ended, Doramay and Frank settled in Frank's hometown of Sundance, Wyoming. Together they raised three sons. Doramay lived a Christian life of service as a wife, mother and vital member of the community. She was a Founding Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where she played the organ, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Lutheran Women's Layman's League. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She also belonged to several clubs in Sundance, including the Give and Gain Club, Crook County Homemakers, the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Doramay loved children and cared for many over the years - she was 'Grandma B' to all. Family camping trips into the Big Horns were the highlight of summer; cards and bingo entertained her in the winter. Frank and Doramay were great sports enthusiasts and supporters and especially enjoyed high school and college basketball. In 2007 they bravely made the decision to relocate to Bay Square to be nearer family, leaving behind many wonderful friends in Sundance. The last five and a half years have been most enjoyable for her; she has led a very active life and made many treasured new friends who will truly miss her friendly smile and positive outlook on life. She is survived by her husband, Frank; and her three sons and grandchildren: Chuck and his wife Molly, their daughters Carrie and husband Mark, Megan and husband Joe, and their sons, Eric and fiancee Jodi and Schuyler and wife Kerry; Dale and his wife Erika, and their daughters Tiffany and husband Paul, Megan and husband Matt, and their sons, David and wife Chelsi and Mark; Dan and his wife Marcia, their children Matthew and Madison. She was most proud of her fourteen great grandchildren: MacKenzie, Abigail, Jake, Kyra, Eliza, Mason, Madison, Payden, Connor, Teagan, Noah, Philip, Oliver and Leo. Doramay was predeceased by her sister, Arlene, and daughter in law Betty. Arrangements are under the care of Lindquist Funeral Home in Yarmouth and Fidler-Isburg in Spearfish, S.D. Visiting hours will be on Monday April 1 from 5 -7 p.m. at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A funeral service will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 265 Middle Road, Falmouth, on Tuesday April 2, at 1:00 p.m., with reception to follow. Burial will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, South Dakota on Friday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m., with reception to follow in Spearfish, S.D. The family wishes to thank Dr. Wesley Johnson, the staff at Bay Square, and the VNA Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they have provided to Doramay. Special thanks, also to Rev.
