Description	:	Frank Warren Blakeman, 91, Sundance, WY died peacefully February, 25, 2014 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME. Frank was born July 13, 1922 to William and Edna Blakeman on the family homestead near Devil's Tower, Wyoming. Frank attended school at Sundance graduating high school in 1940. Read More	Frank Warren Blakeman, 91, Sundance, WY died peacefully February, 25, 2014 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME. Frank was born July 13, 1922 to William and Edna Blakeman on the family homestead near Devil's Tower, Wyoming. Frank attended school at Sundance graduating high school in 1940. After graduation he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he worked for Lockheed Aircraft assembling nose pieces for P38 Lightning fighter planes. In California, Frank met his future wife, Doramay Ellinghausen where the couple had their first date on December 7, 1941. After enlisting in the Navy and completing basic training, Frank and Doramay were married on September 18, 1943 at Coeur d'Alene, ID. Frank served in the Pacific on the USS Bunker Hill until his discharge in December, 1945. In July, 1946, Frank and Doramay settled in Sundance where Frank began work as a Bookkeeper at Sundance State Bank. Frank held all jobs at the bank over the next 40 years and served in various offices of the Wyoming Banking Association. He retired as President of the bank in December, 1986. Frank and Doramay shared their love for over 70 years raising three sons in Sundance where Frank and Doramay were active in the Lutheran Church and community. Frank was a founding member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where he served in all church offices. He served on the school board, city council, volunteer fire department, and the original hospital board. He served as Commander of VFW Post 4311 and American Legion Post 45. In 1987, Frank served as Chairman of the Sundance Centennial committee. Frank was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. He and Doramay traveled extensively across Wyoming including many trips to their favorite spots in the Big Horn and Teton Mountains. Frank enjoyed playing cards and bowling with friends; at home he loved woodworking and tending his yard and garden -- Frank's pride were his Gladiolas, Bermuda and Walla Walla onions. Second only to his faith was his love and devotion to family. In 2007 Frank and Doramay moved to Yarmouth, ME to be near their family. In Maine, Frank and Doramay made many new friends and shared enjoyable days with children and grandchildren – all the while fondly remembering home, family and friends back west. Frank lost his loving wife, Doramay, in March, 2013. He was also predeceased by siblings Angela, Edna Francis, Anna Mae, Charles, Merle and Gerald and daughter in law Betty. Frank is survived by his sister Daisy Dennis of Hulett, WY and brother Don Blakeman of Southern Pines, NC. He also leaves behind his three sons, Chuck and wife Molly of Yarmouth, ME, Dale and wife Erika of The Woodlands, TX, and Dan and wife Marcia of Bedford, NH; grandchildren Carrie, Eric, Tiffany, Megan, David, Mark, Matthew, Madison, Megan and Schuyler and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on March, 13 at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel, Sundance. Funeral service will be at 10:00AM on March, 14 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Sundance with a grave side honor guard at 2:00 PM at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD. The family wishes to thank all those who lovingly provided care for Frank and Doramay in both Maine and Wyoming. Donations can be directed to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Sundance, WY.
