Description	:	Dorathea L. Spielman Doetker, 82, of Beatrice died on January 5, 2007 at Parkview Center in Beatrice. She was born on February 12, 1924 on a farm north of Jansen, baptized on April 6, 1924 by Rev. Emil Vogt and attended rural school for eight years. Spielman Doetker, 82, of Beatrice died on January 5, 2007 at Parkview Center in Beatrice. She was born on February 12, 1924 on a farm north of Jansen, baptized on April 6, 1924 by Rev. Emil Vogt and attended rural school for eight years. Her parents went through the depression and then moved south of Jansen. She was confirmed on July 3, 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Jansen by Pastor Walter Wilkens. She did house work for different people for nine years before she married Clarence J. Doetker on January 1, 1947 at St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice by Pastor John Strong. They lived and farmed in the Pickrell area until March 9, 1979 when they retired and moved to Beatrice. She did volunteer work for Hospice, Beatrice Good Samaritan Home, Bloodmobile and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. She was a member of the Thrifty Workers Extension Club since 1950. In 2001, she moved to the Kensington in Beatrice. She enjoyed doing crafts. Survivors include two sons, Robert Doetker and wife Mary of Lincoln and Richard Doetker and daughter-in-law Brenda of Roca; five grandchildren, Christie Doetker, Jody Bowen and husband Troy, Kerry Ropte and husband Luke, Jesseca Parker and husband Brandon and Jeffery Doetker; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Naomi Spielman of Beatrice, Virginia Olson of Lincoln and Marilda Schlake of Cortland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Dorathea Helmke Spielman; her husband, Clarence who died on August 19, 2004; three sisters, Elizbeth Spielman who died in infancy, Gertrude Hestermann and Ann Tjaden; three brothers, Otto, Rudolph and Herman Spielman and one niece, Mary Ann Tjaden. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 8, 2007 at Christ Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell with Pastor Owen Derrick officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A memorial has been established to Hospice and Christ Lutheran Church with Nora Zimmerman, Verla Busboom and Dorothy Oltman in charge. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Monday in the basement of the church. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice until 9:00 P.M.
