A Sterling woman, 78-year-old Doris House, died late Monday afternoon, Feb. 13 in a traffic accident west of Adams. House was a driver of a car that was struck by another vehicle driven by Andrew J. Muff of Crete. The accident occurred about 1.75 miles west of Adams on Highway 41. The State Patrol's Office was continuing to investigate the accident on Tuesday, but it was reported that the Muff vehicle crossed the center line into the path of the House vehicle. The patrol information office was not sure whether icy road conditions that day were a factor in the collision. Also injured in the accident were two passengers in the House car, 82-year-old Harry House of Sterling and 18-year-old Tom McKee of Sterling. Both were transported by rescue squad to Lincoln General Hospital. Both the Adams and Sterling Rescue Squads were called to the scene of the crash. House remained in Lincoln General in serious condition with a head injury and contusions to his chest and abdomen on Tuesday. McKee was treated for bruises and contusions and released. Weber-House, 78, Sterling, died Monday, Feb. 13, 1989 at a Lincoln Hospital, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident near Adams. She was born July 12, 1910, at Jaroso, Colo., daughter of Ira E. and Goldie Genevieve (Turner) Francis. She was a resident of Sterling for several years. She owned and operated a ceramic shop in her home. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Sterling, O.E.S.; she was a former chairman of the March of Dimes in Sterling, and a former captain of the Sterling Rescue Unit. Survivors include her husband, Harry C. House. Sr.; a daughter, Ronda Fentress of Lincoln; a brother, Mose Francis of Colorado; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three step-sons, John House and Harry House, Jr., both of California; Roy House of Wilber; five step-daughters, Marqueritte Walters of Greeley, Colo., Betty Pfuhl of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mary Ellingson of Lexington, Shirley Schmehl of Lincoln, and Valerie Kelly of Holdrege. She was preceded by her parents, and her first husband, Alvin Weber in 1974. The funeral will be Friday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. in United Methodist Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Doughlas Delp officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery. A memorial has been established with zink Mortuary in charge. Zink Mortuary, Sterling, was in charge of arrangements
