Mrs. Dewey Bridenbaugh, prominent resident of Hiland township, passed away Saturday at her home, following an illness of a year. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Community church in St. Lawrence. The church was crowded with friends who came to pay their last respects to the deceased, and a profusion of lovely flowers spoke of the esteem in which she was held. Rev. N. A. Luke was in charge of the service, and burial was made in the St. Lawrence cemetery. Pall bearers were Gene Morrison, Bliss Hurlbut, Dean Smith, Carl Winsell, Louis Stechmann, and Clinton Titus. Doris Buckendorf, daughter of Lewis and Johanna Buckendorf, was born October 26, 1898 at Norfolk, Nebr. In February, 1921, she was married to Dewey Bridenbaugh, and soon after their marriage they came to make their home in Hiland township, residing there continuously. Surviving her death are her husband and four children, Helen, Barbara, Dale and Mary, and three sisters and two brothers. Out-of-town relatives who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Good of Lincoln, Nebr.; Mrs. D.E. Ewing of Hartington, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Phil Bridenbaugh of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bridenbaugh of Sioux City, and Larry Phillips of Mitchell.
