She moved to Oakland, CA in 1945, and then in 1950 to San Lorenzo, later she lived in Discovery Bay, Bakersfield, San Leandro, moved to Boise, Idaho in 1995 and then moved to Stockton, CA in 2003. Doris and her husband, George Hammerson raised their family of four sons in San Lorenzo, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband and son Steven. She is survived by sons Eugene, Geoffrey and Gregory, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren with number ten due this month. Doris was a life-long Christian. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church (WELS), 13009 N. Elderberry, Lodi off of Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi, 10 am on September 27th followed by a graveside committal at Union Cemetery, 11545 Brentwood, Blvd., Brentwood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Christ Lutheran Church" Doris Hammerson Memorial Fund
