Eldridge, of Clemons, passed away at 4:45 Sunday morning at the Deaconess hospital at Marshalltown, where she had been a patient for the past three weeks, suffering from anemia. Mrs. Eldridge had been in failing health for the past five years. Lydia Catherine Eldridge was born on August 3, 1894, at State Center, the daughter of Louis and Minnie Eckhardt. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John's church and on Nov. 26, 1914, was married to Harold E. Eldridge. Of the eight children born to this union, seven survive, a son, Wayne Richard, having died in infancy. The surviving are Cordelia, Ethel, Marion, Howard, Bernice, Elenora and Doris. Beside her husband and children, Mrs. Eldridge is survived by her mother, Mrs. Minnie Eckhardt, and four sisters, Mrs. Harry Weuve, Mrs. Geo. Weuve, Mrs. Alva Schoppe and Miss Elnora Eckhardt of this city, and Mrs. Orlan Conklin of Hollandale, Minn. The funeral services were held at the St. John's Lutheran Church near French Grove at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon following a short service at the home. Rev. H.C. Koepke was in charge of the services and interment was made at the Clemons cemetery. The pall bearers were Art Davis, Albert Smith, Walter Eckhardt, Renton Fricke, Christ Fricke and Conrad Fricke. The flowers were care for by Mrs. Guy Heath, Mrs. Fred Clemons, Mrs. Frank Males, Mrs. W.A. Von Spreckelson, Mrs. Glen Bartholemew, Mrs. Minnie Armbrecht and Miss Inez Jones.
