Description	:	Doris Jean Kehler, 79, of Topeka, formerly of Circleville, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born January 21, 1932, at Mayetta, the daughter of John D. and Martha L. Sibils Vaught. She graduated from Mayetta High School in 1949. She attended Highland Community College and graduated from Washburn University with an Associates Degree. Doris worked at Holton Transport for eight years. She also worked in the Jackson County Courthouse and the Co-op in Holton. She worked for the Department of Education, SRS and the Topeka Capital-Journal, all in Topeka. She retired in... Read More	Doris Jean Kehler, 79, of Topeka, formerly of Circleville, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born January 21, 1932, at Mayetta, the daughter of John D. and Martha L. Sibils Vaught. She graduated from Mayetta High School in 1949. She attended Highland Community College and graduated from Washburn University with an Associates Degree. Doris worked at Holton Transport for eight years. She also worked in the Jackson County Courthouse and the Co-op in Holton. She worked for the Department of Education, SRS and the Topeka Capital-Journal, all in Topeka. She retired in 1995. She was a former member of the Circleville Christian Church and currently a member of Countryside Christian Church in Topeka. She was a member of the Dorcas Ladies Group. Doris and her husband were past District Directors of the Family Campers & Rv'ers and Kansas Campers. She was a former 4-H club community leader with the Ontario Busy Bees Doris married Max E. Kehler November 20, 1949 at Holton. He died May 11, 2008. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jeanine Holt & Christopher Kehler; four sisters, Mildred Vaught, who was stillborn, Gladys Perkins, Vera Reeves, and Margaret Cattrell; and four brothers, Elmer Vaught, who died in childhood, Henry Vaught, Clarence Vaught, and Carl Vaught. Survivors include two sons, David Kehler and wife Cherrie, El Dorado, and Gordon Kehler and wife Brenda, Topeka; two daughters, Jeanette Wright and husband, Larry, Kearney, Missouri, and Eileen Veal and husband Richard, Topeka; a brother, Raymond Vaught and wife Betty, Topeka; a sister, Rosemary Robertson and husband Alan, Falkner, Mississippi, sixteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26th at the Countryside Christian Church, 3635 N.E. K-4 Highway, in Topeka. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery.
