Read More	Doris Lorraine Hansel, 80, Harvard, NE, died on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, in Hastings, NE. She was born on March 4, 1933, in Springfield, Illinois. She lived and worked in Springfield until age 21. She moved to Chicago and worked in lunch counter at the bowling alley for a few years, then a private club until 1959. She met Oliver Hansel in 1956 and moved to Lincoln and married Oliver in November 1959 in Omaha. She worked in area until 1961 and moved to KC. Oliver got a job in Champaign, Illinois, and this is where Elizabeth was born in April 1964 and William in September 1965. After a couple more moves, Doris and Oliver bought a tavern in Tecumseh in 1973. Sold the bar and ran Ace Café until 1981. She spent the next 23 years working at Community Action Center in Tecumseh. She retired in 2003 and moved to Fairbury. She moved to the Hastings/Harvard area in 2010 where she spent her last days living with her daughter. She is survived by son, William J. Hansel and wife, Jeanna, of Fairbury, NE; grandchildren, Amber (Hansel) Gill and husband, Tyler, Amanda Hansel and fiancee, Josh Aude, Ashley Hansel; great-granddaughter Braylee Gill all of Fairbury; daughter, Elizabeth A. Baxa and son-in-law, Rob Crane of Harvard, NE; grandson, Dillon Hazen and Rachel Lee; great-grandson, Derek Hazen of Hebron, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver L. Hansel (3/14/1981); parents, Orville and Violet Nation; grandson, Derek Thomas; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Earl West. Funeral services will be held on at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel, Beatrice, NE, with Jon Palmquist officiating. The body will lie in state Wednesday at Harman-Wright Mortuary from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, NE. A memorial is established to the family's choice with the mortuary in charge.
