Doris was employed as a caregiver for private homes for five years, retiring in 1994. On November 22, 1950, in Broadhead, Kentucky, she was married to Landmon G. Benge, and he preceded her in death in 1987. She is survived by two sons, Leslie (Lou) Benge of Columbus, Ohio and Loren (Debbie) Benge of Hamilton; two daughters, Glenda McGuire of Darrtown and Gayle Barrett of Hamilton; four brothers, Phil (Vickie) Wyatt of Walton, Kentucky, Terry Wyatt of Beauford, South Carolina, John Wyatt Jr. of Trenton, Michigan, and Ray (Nina) Wyatt of Dayton, Ohio; six sisters, Sophia (Don) Dawes of Hamilton, Ruth (Ray) Piazza of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Wyonna (Wally) Wegner of Detroit, Michigan, Bonnie (Jim) Wells of Corbin, Kentucky, Sharon (Tom) Scarborough of Springdale, and Avis Wyatt of Hamilton; also fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Benge in 1974; one brother, Stan Wyatt; and one grandson, Earl Glen Benge in 1982. Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. James Mullins of Calvary Christian Center officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family requests memorials to Vitas Hospice. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of Vitas Hospice for their loving care and concern. Published in Journal-News on Nov. 27, 2004
