Holm. Her... Read More	Dorothea (Asbe) Stole Olson 16 August 1874 --- 2 February 1955 Mrs. Lars Olson Dies Wednesday Dorothea (Dora) Asbe was born near Story City, Aug. 16, 1874. She was the oldest daughter and third child in a family of 14 children of Hans T. and Anna Asbe. She was baptized in St Petri Lutheran church of Story City. At the age of eight years Dora, with her parents, moved to Norway township, Wright county, to a farm five miles south of what is now Kanawha. Dora was confirmed in the St. Olaf church by Rev. H. C. Holm. Her early childhood was spent at home helping her parents even to the extent of herding cattle on the open prairie on what now is the town of Kanawha. On September, 1892, she was united in marriage to John Stole. To this union eight children were born: Alma, Mrs. John Engh of Kanawha, Hannah, Mrs. Frank Martin of Des Moines, Marie, Mrs. George Nibe of Story City, Alvald of Goldfield, Lismore of Kanawha, Jay of Garner, Anna Mae, Mrs. A. O. Larson of Alden and Leona, Mrs. H. E. Harriman of Birmingham, Ala.; also 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren besides a host of relatives and friends. On July 27, 1911, Dora was left alone with her eight children. She continued to live on the farm until March 6, 1924, when she was united in marriage to Lars Olson and they moved to their present home in Kanawha. Four years ago she became a semi-invalid and during these years was faithfully attended to by her husband, Lars. The end came Wednesday evening, Feb. 2, at 9 o'clock p.m. at the ago of 80 years, 5 months and 17 days. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Still living are: One brother, Anfin and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Wicks and Mrs. Louise Thorson of Kanawha, Mrs. Gena Mehl of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Sena Larson of Thompson and Mrs. Ida Hill of Dubuque. Funeral services were held at the Kanawha Lutheran Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Sampson officiating. Interment was made in the Norway township cemetery. Nephews: Milford Mehl, Paul Thorson, LeRoy Wicks, Thomas Asbe, Marshall Larson and Merle Asbe served as pallbearers. Wright County Monitor --- Clarion, Iowa February 10, 1955
