Description	:	The death of John Stoley of Norway township removes one of our best farmers and citizen. Mr. Stoley passed away Thursday afternoon, July 27th, death being due to heart trouble, with rheumatism a contributing factor. His poor health began five or six years ago and during the past few months his decline had been rapid. Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the residence at 10 o'clock and at St John's Norwegian church at 11 o'clock, being conducted by Rev. H. C. Mr. Stoley passed away Thursday afternoon, July 27th, death being due to heart trouble, with rheumatism a contributing factor. His poor health began five or six years ago and during the past few months his decline had been rapid. Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the residence at 10 o'clock and at St John's Norwegian church at 11 o'clock, being conducted by Rev. H. C. Holm, with interment in Norway township cemetery. John Stoley was born in Norway and was aged 43 years, 1 month and 19 days at the time of death. He came to America when a young man, first locating near Morris, Kendall county, Ill. Later he came to Wright county which had been his home for over twenty years. He rented a piece of land and by good management, thrift and industry became the owner of a well improved quarter section farm, one of the best in that locality. He was an excellent neighbor, a law abiding citizen and in a business transaction his word was as good as his note. Mr. Stoley's character was above reproach and his citizenship fully illustrates the high standard to be obtained in our foreign born residents. Deceased was a director of the Norway Creamery company, treasurer of the Farmers' Elevator company at Holmes and had held several township offices. In the spring of 1891 Mr. Stoley was united in marriage to Miss Dora Ashe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Asbe. To this union were born eight children, three sons and five daughters.
