The funeral was held Sunday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. O.R. Heinitz in charge. Burial was in the Kramer Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Wohl was born Dorothea Orthmann on May 30, 1857 in Jacobi, Dreuber, Germany. She came to America with her parents at the age of eight years in a sailboat. The voyage took over six weeks and the vessel docked in New Jersey where the family lived until May 1869 when they moved to a farm south of Kramer. Mrs. Wohl was baptized in infancy and confirmed on April 6, 1873. She was wed to William Wohl on May 14, 1876. Six children were born to the couple. Exactly two years after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Wohl moved to Leadville, Colorado by covered wagon to make their new home. However, they returned to Lancaster County, east of Crete six years later and settled on an 80-acre homestead. Later they moved to the farm southeast of here where Mrs. Wohl resided until her death. The Wohls observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1926. Survivors include two sons, Henry of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and August of Crete; three daughters, Mrs. Dora Jeffries of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Andrew Ebner of Lincoln, and Emma Wohl of Crete; one brother, Charlie Orthmann of Greeley, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 12, 1926, a son William, and an adopted niece.
